Lena Yuen-Wah Ching

Lena Yuen-Wah Ching, 78, born on June 14, 1935, in Taishan, China to Moy Chuck-Wing and Ngai Woon-Hui. We are so proud of how brave and hard she fought to the very end. She lost the fierce battle to liver cancer on August 10, 2013 with her family by her side. She resided in Monterey Park, California at the time of her passing. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Lloyd Lap-Chi Ching, son, Fred Ching and daughters, Tamara Chan and Jeannie Van Buskirk. Lena also has six grand children ranging in age of 16 months old to 21 years old.

Lena and Lloyd, always with the best interest in mind for their child, immigrated from China to Canada with their son Fred in 1962. Years later, they had their daughter Tamara. They lived in Canada for 15 years until a better opportunity for their children arose, so they moved to Chicago in 1975. A year later, they had their third child, Jeannie. The Ching Family lived in Niles, Illinois for 12 years before moving to California in 1986. Northridge became their permanent home of residence.

Our mom has taught us many valuable things in life and always encouraged us to be the best that we can be. It is because of her, we, her children are who we are today. Words can not convey the sorrow that we feel and how much we miss our mom. She was a beautiful, strong lady, and a wonderful mom.
