Cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, Leigh Ballard Harline, age 95, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, in Portland, Oregon. He was born on September 13, 1930, in Covina, CA, and spent his childhood in Walteria (Torrance), CA. Leigh proudly served in the United States Army from 1951-1953. During his service, he met the love of his life, Betty Fawcett, in Paris, France where they were both stationed. They were married in Paris France on June 26, 1953, beginning a beautiful partnership that would last a lifetime. In 1955 Leigh and Betty settled in Anaheim, CA where they raised their four children and built a life rooted in hard work, and devotion to church and family. He was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Leigh owned and operated a cement and landscape contracting business, which he ran with dedication until his retirement in 1996. That same year, he and Betty moved to Palm Springs, CA to enjoy their well-earned retirement. Music was one of his greatest joys. He loved singing and playing his harmonica to all those who would listen, especially to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he adored and loved entertaining them. Leigh would always go out of his way to lend a helping hand. Whenever he was out and happened to see someone in uniform, whether they were a police officer, fireman or a veteran, he would offer to buy them lunch.
Leigh was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty, as well as his four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his daughters, Debbie, Becky (Craig); and his sons, Brad (Cheryl) and Daren; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of immense pride and joy to him. He will be remembered for his outgoing personality, strong work ethic, and deep love for his family. He will be dearly missed and forever cherished.
