Lee Romero

February 21, 1982 — May 17, 2023

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our son, Lee Richard Romero. He passed unexpectedly at the age of 41 on May 17, 2023 at his residence in Los Angeles, California.

Lee was born to Roy and Dionne Romero in Chino, California on February 21, 1982. The news of his expected arrival brought much joy to his grandparents Heriberto and Lillian Romero and Bruce and Maria Olson, as Lee was their first grandchild. Lee loved his grandparents and loved spending time with them. We know his grandparents, who went before him, welcomed him with open arms.

Growing up, Lee loved to spend time with his brothers, sisters, and cousins. He also enjoyed little league baseball, swimming, bike riding, and roller skating. He attended South Hills High School and joined the swim team. His first year on the swim team, he was awarded MVP and in the years to follow he was a CIF swimmer. He was a remarkable athlete.

After high school, Lee joined the Army and proudly served our country. He served overseas for 2 years and then was stationed in Alaska for the duration of his duty. Lee was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

When Lee got out of the service, he enjoyed spending time at the VA gym and eventually started working there. He loved this job because he got to meet so many veterans and hear their stories. Lee loved and cherished time with his family, cooking, working out like his dad, and spontaneous bike rides around LA to find walking trails and restaurants. He loved making wine from scratch, Japanese art and culture, and loved all different kinds of music, but mostly rock and metal. Lee was a great artist like his mom and loved to draw.

Lee is survived by his Mom, Dionne, and his siblings Paul, Sarah and Abraham.

His Dad, Roy, stepmom Dena, and his siblings Alexandria, Clarissa and Daniel were also left behind.

The Lord reassures us in 1st Thessalonians 4:16-18 that we will see our beloved son again.

"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And those in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air."
