Leandra Alzalde

Leandra Alzalde, 89, of Cathedral City passed away at her home on Friday March 23, 2018 surrounded by family. Born on March 13, 1929 she is preceded in death by her husband Leandro Alzalde Sr., two children Benjamin and Margarita and her parents Dario and Maria Gonzales. Born in Crystal City, TX she married at age 17 and started her life as a homemaker. Settling in the desert in 1957 she was married for 55 years.
She is survived by five sons, Leandro Jr. (Mary) of Wauwatosa, Wis, Benjamin and Manuel of Cathedral City, Juan of Palm Desert, Dario of Escondido; and five daughters, Consuelo of Sky Valley, Crisanta, Yolanda, Mina, Margarita Bucio (Salvador), of Cathedral City, and Maria Callison (Marty) of Thousand Palms, her 31 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Monday April 2nd at Forest Lawn in Cathedral City from 5p.m. to 9p.m., with a rosary at 7p.m. Services will be on Tuesday April 3rd at 9a.m. at Forest Lawn with burial at Desert Memorial Park, Cathedral City.
