Leah Castillo Ryznar

Leah Castillo Ryznar, 43, born on October 18, 1974, in St. Paul, Minnesota, passed away May 12, 2018, after a year-long battle with cancer. She resided in La Crescenta, California at the time of her passing. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where she made many life-long friendships, Leah was a talented artist, who worked as a graphic designer for Minneapolis' City Pages, Chicago Magazine, Los Angeles Magazine, Variety and The Advocate before taking a break to focus on her children. She loved funk and soul, gossipy Rock n' Roll biographies, 80s sitcoms with great theme songs, and The Jazz Singer, starring Neil Diamond. She moved to Los Angeles to get out of the cold and close to the ocean, and she found more great friends, love, and happiness. She's survived by husband JD, children Gary and Donna, mother Karen Castillo, father Dan Castillo, brother Mark Castillo (Julia), brother Matt Castillo (Laura), Grandfather Jerry Anderson and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Glendale, California.
