Lawrence Debbage

Lawrence Debbage, 88, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 14th, 2019, at his residence in Cerritos, Ca. surrounded by family and friends.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Sunday, March 10th at New Life Community Church (NLCC), Artesia, with Pastor Juno Smalley officiating.

Lawrence was loved, is missed and will always be cherished. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Lawrence was born on January 20th, 1931 in Wallsend, England, son of the late Arthur and Margaret Debbage, and brother to the late Arthur Debbage (Alice).

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joan Flynn Debbage, his three sons, Keith (Terri), Michael (Gretchen) and Jeffrey, and four grandchildren, Neil, Jane, Megan and Grace.

Lawrence attended the University of Newcastle, England and was a veteran of the British Royal Air Force. He worked for Parsons Engineering, England, the Bahamas Electricity Corporation, and Hawker Siddeley in Houston, Texas. He retired from Sunlaw Energy Corporation in Los Angeles several years ago.

He was actively involved with the Boys Brigade - a church-based youth organization - in both England and the Bahamas where he was band leader. An avid soccer fan, he was a lifetime fan of Newcastle United in the English Premier League.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. The family would like to extend a special thank you to PIH Home Hospice for the compassionate care given to Lawrence as well as Tina Tribolet with NLCC for her love and support during this difficult time.
