Atkinson, NH: Laurence M. "Bud" "Larry" Foss, Jr., 94, of Atkinson, died on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Salem Haven Nursing Home in Salem, NH.

Born in Amesbury, MA and raised and educated in Wakefield, MA, son of the late Laurence M. and Orelie (Richard) Foss, he graduated from Wakefield High School with the Class of 1939. Mr. Foss worked as an experimental machinist for M.I.T for many years. He was also the owner and operator of Foss Machinery in Bedford, MA and Vermont. A resident of Atkinson since 1998, Mr. Foss previously lived in Florida from 1990 to 1998, and had also lived in Vermont for many years and prior to that Bedford, MA.

A craftsman, Mr. Foss enjoyed fashioning handmade jewelry. He also enjoyed boating and water skiing.

He is survived by his wife of seventy-two years, Barbara (Johnson) Foss, three sons, Stephen Foss of Randolph, VT, Allen Foss of Morrisville, VT, and Geoffrey Foss and his wife Linda of Salem, NH, a daughter, Sharon Johnson and her husband David of Marshfield, MA, two sisters, Nathelie Whipple of California, and Nanette Condon of Brookline, NH, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Foss, and his sisters, Roxanne Senter and Willett Stone.

Relatives and friends are invite to attend Mr. Foss's Life Celebration on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Route 121A, Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will take place on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
