Hampstead,NH: Laura "Lee" (Shaw) (Cuneo) Meehan, 83, of Hampstead, died March 15, 2016 at Warde Health Center in Windham, following a long illness.
Born in Revere, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Frederick and Dorothy (Canty) Shaw, she was raised in educated in Revere and Malden. A member of the Malden High School Class of 1950, she was the Lead Drum Majorette for the high school band.
Mrs. Meehan was last employed for six years as a Conference Coordinator for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, she had also worked previously as an administrative assistant at Carey, Maddaleni and Fothergill Insurance Adjusters of Everett and as an office assistant at Monsanto Co. of Everett.
An avid card player and accomplished cook, she also enjoyed artistic embroidering, knitting, crocheting, painting, and completing crossword puzzles.
Mrs. Meehan was a longtime former resident of Boynton Beach, Florida and Mount Vernon, Maine, where she enjoyed swimming and boating.
Predeceased by her first husband John Cuneo in 1987, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband J. Terence "Terry" Meehan, a son and daughter-in-law, John F. and Sheila Cuneo of Derry, a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah L. and Roland Pothier of Derry, a step-son and his wife Chris and Becky Meehan of Haverhill, and a step-daughter and her husband, Kathleen and Paul Errico of Haverhill, a brother Frederick Shaw of North Carolina, a sister Dorothy Redwood of Florida, six grandchildren Ryan Pothier, Jessica McCabe, Nicholas Pothier, Anastasia Pothier, Matthew Cuneo, Evan Cuneo, step grandchildren, Kaitlyn Meehan, Kelsey Endicott, great-grandchildren, Bobby, Abby and Ellie Laura, and Step great-grandchildren Colin and Camden and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday morning from 10 to 11 am at the Warde Health Center, 21 Searles Road, Windham. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at the Warde Health Center. Private family burial services will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Scripps Research Institute, 130 Scripps Way 4B2, Jupiter, Florida.
