Laura Isabel Devito, 60, of Los Angeles, California, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on June 1, 1963, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Laura completed her schooling in Mexico before immigrating to the United States at the age of 17. She attended Los Angeles High School, where she learned English and graduated with Honors. Her favorite subject was Mathematics, and she had a special bond with her teacher, the director of folklorico at UCLA, who recognized Laura as his favorite dancer for her spirited performances.
Laura furthered her education by earning an Associate Degree in Microbiology from Santa Monica Community College. She dedicated over 30 years of her career to the administrative department at AAA Automobile Club, where her coworkers became like family.
Known for her vibrant spirit and infectious laughter, Laura was the life of every party. She had a great sense of humor and a talent for dancing, ensuring that the party didn't start until she arrived. Laura had an open heart and welcomed others into her home with warmth and generosity.
Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Whether she was cooking up a feast or celebrating a birthday, Laura cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. She was immensely proud of her daughters: Julia, a doctor; Valerie, a lead recruiting manager for an Artificial Intelligence company; and Alexandria, a world traveler completing her undergraduate degree in China.
In addition to her daughters, Laura is survived by her devoted husband, Robert Devito; her brother, Javier Plascencia Garcia; her son-in-law, Conner McNutt; her mother of the heart, Enriqueta Jimenez; her sister of the heart, Lolita Santamaria; her brother of the heart, Armando Garcia; and many other relatives and friends who will deeply miss her.
A visitation will be held in Laura's honor on Friday, May 10, 2024, starting at 4:00 pm (Pacific time) at Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills, located at 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90068.

Además de sus hijas, Laura es sobrevivida por su esposo devoto, Robert Devito; su hermano, Javier Plascencia García; su yerno, Conner McNutt; su madre del corazón, Enriqueta Jiménez; su hermana del corazón, Lolita Santamaría; su hermano del corazón, Armando García; y muchos otros familiares y amigos que la extrañarán profundamente.
Se llevará a cabo un velorio en honor a Laura el viernes 10 de mayo de 2024, a partir de las 4:00 pm (hora del Pacífico) en Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills, ubicado en 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Ángeles, CA 90068.
