Larry Sheppard, 77, born on October 02, 1948, in Santa Monica, CA. He passed away October 04, 2025, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville, Tn. He had resided at Asbury Place Assisted Living for the last 8 mos. Prior to that he had made his home in Seymour, Tn.
Larry served in the USAF as a military police officer at Ramstein AB, Germany. He met & married his wife, Sheryl, in Germany. They made their home in Anaheim, Ca, after Larry discharged from the Air Force.
Larry was active in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts & Magnolia High School football boosters. He attended multiple Boy Scout leadership programs & was awarded Outstanding Adult Leader for Ahwahnee District & Silver Beaver. He was recognized by Magnolia High School with an alumni award while serving as president of the football boosters.
Larry worked in partnership with his brother, Dan, in the real estate business for over 45yrs in the Bellflower area. Larry had many years of health challenges so a move to Tennessee took the place of traveling during his retirement years.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth & Dub Sheppard; grandparents, Nina Reed, Hobert & Viva Sheppard & Greta Sheppard; brother, Dan & sisters-in-law Patty, Chris and Pauline. He is survived by his wife, Sheryl, of 55 yrs, Seymour, Tn; daughter, Tammy & husband, Bryan, of Kodak, Tn; son, Tom & wife, Jenny, of Costa Mesa, Ca. Grandchildren: Meghan Rossiter & fiancé, Patrick Maret, of Seymour, Tn; Ian Sheppard & fiancé, Genesis Flores, of Bellflower, Ca; Ella Sheppard of Northampton, Mass & Scarlett Sheppard of Costa Mesa, Ca.
Visitation is scheduled Oct 22, 4-8pm @ Forest Lawn, Cypress. Rosary @ 10:30 am Oct 23 followed by funeral Mass @ 11 am. Burial @ Forest Lawn, Cypress.
Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Cypress, CA.
The family requests donations be made in Larry’s name to the American Diabetes Association or American Kidney Foundation in lieu of flowers.
