Larry passed away on July 15, 2017 from complications caused by a brain tumor. He was 22 years old, a passionate and outspoken young man with a warm heart. Anyone who met him was delightfully greeted by his inviting personality and tight lifting embraces. Friends and family describe him as sensitive and caring; he would always end each phone call with an "I love you" whether he was speaking to a friend or family member. He was a trusted confidante who deeply empathized with others and listened without passing judgment.
Larry loved being in the kitchen, where he would spend hours perfecting his baking recipes. His blueberry muffins were particularly loved by his family, but his brownies and cakes were also happily devoured by lucky recipients. When asked about the secret to his culinary success, Larry would whisper, "The key is to add a ton of butter," but everyone knew better--he infused his love and passion into each of his pastries.
Larry had dreams of becoming a pharmacologist and enjoying life surrounded by family and friends. He was a student at Irvine Valley College and had his heart set on UC Berkeley for undergraduate study. In the past year, he had fallen deeply in love with his girlfriend, Nora, and had spoken positively about the future. We all shared in his happiness and knew he would succeed at whatever he set his heart and mind to.
We are absolutely devastated to have lost such an important member of our family. Larry touched many hearts and he will not be forgotten. His service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial in Covina Hills on Saturday, July 22nd.
