Lambok Simorangkir, born on April 14, 1940, in Tarutung, Indonesia, has peacefully departed from this world on September 17, 2025, at the Redlands Community Hospital~California, after bravely enduring multiple strokes. Her life was a tapestry of warmth, family devotion, and an unwavering spirit rooted deeply in her heritage.
Lambok was a beacon of kindness, her welcoming personality making all who encountered her feel at ease. Known for her generosity, she cherished every moment spent with her family, especially during the holidays, where her vibrant spirit shone through. Christmases were particularly special as she filled homes with the delicious aroma of her famous rendang, fried noodles and pound cakes, creating cherished memories that will resonate within the hearts of her loved ones forever.
A devoted member of her church, Lambok was active in numerous church activities, where her love for her faith flourished alongside her commitment to community and family. Her pride in her Indonesian (Batak) heritage was evident as she carried the richness of her culture with grace, sharing it lovingly with those around her.
Lambok is survived by her loving children: Anggreiny Lumbantobing, Igor Lumbantobing, Puspa Simis and Jeffrey Lumbantobing; her dear sons-in-law and daughters-in-law, Saifurrohim, Nova Ngantung, Steve Simis, and Ratna Christina; and her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy: Kevin Pratama, Kishi Mangiaccotti, Kristofer Noah, Jonathan Lumbantobing, Jaden Simis, Julian Simis, Utha Lumbantobing, Randy Lumbantobing, and Jeremy Lumbantobing. Each of them carries a part of her legacy, a testament to her nurturing spirit and boundless love.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Partahi Oloan Lumbantobing.
A Prayer service in honor of Lambok will take place on October 1, 2025, at the Forest Lawn - Covina Hills - Memory Chapel, starting at 6:00 PM and concluding at 9:00 PM.
Through her kindness, her unwavering faith, and the love she bestowed upon her family, Lambok Simorangkir's spirit will forever remain a guiding light, illuminating the paths of those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Her legacy of love will continue to endure in the hearts of her family, as they celebrate the beautiful life she led.
