Lamberto Arboleda, age 88, born on October 29, 1937 in Silang, Cavite, Philippines, passed away on June 30, 2026.
Lamberto was born to Perpetua and Angeles Arboleda in Silang, Cavite, where he spent his early years before embarking on a life of service, hard work, and devotion to his family. He proudly served in the United States Navy for 20 years, rising to the rank of Chief Petty Officer. His military career not only reflected his dedication and leadership but also provided the opportunity to bring his family to the United States in 1971.
Lamberto met the love of his life, Zenaida Lara Arboleda, on a bus ride in the Philippines. He noticed Zenaida Lara and offered her his seat. She accepted his offer, and as she would later fondly tell the story, she accepted only his seat and no one else's. That simple act of kindness blossomed into a beautiful love story. Lamberto and Zenaida married in 1961 and shared 56 wonderful years together before her passing in 2018.
As they raised their family, they lived in Long Beach, San Diego, and Cerritos before briefly retiring to Arizona. Although they enjoyed retirement, they found it impossible to stay far from the family they cherished and returned to California, where they continued making memories with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Lamberto's work ethic was nothing short of extraordinary. At one point, he worked multiple jobs, serving in the Navy, working for the Department of Water and Power, Courtaulds, and Sears, to provide the best life possible for his family.
Those who knew Lamberto will remember him as a man of remarkable strength, undeniable charisma, and unwavering love for his family. He had a commanding presence balanced by a generous heart. Whether sharing stories, offering guidance, or simply enjoying time surrounded by loved ones, he made everyone feel welcome. His greatest pride was his family, and he found immense joy in watching each generation grow and succeed.
Lamberto was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Zenaida Arboleda, and his son, Peter "Louie" Arboleda.
He is survived by his children, Catherine "Cathy" Tamura and Grace Atwood; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Murciano, Christopher Arboleda, Ashley Kalemkeridis, Jessica Castro, Jacqueline Atwood, Matthew Arboleda, Ryan Tamura, Eric Tamura, Christian Arboleda, Ayiesha Arboleda, and Shaun Arboleda; his great-grandchildren, Fisher & Imogen Lu Murciano, Bazel & Birdie Kalemkeridis, and Rio Castro; and his brother, Armando Arboleda.
Lamberto leaves behind a legacy of service, resilience, sacrifice, and unconditional love. His strength built a foundation for generations to come, and his kindness, humor, and devotion to his family will continue to inspire all who knew him. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the countless lives he touched and in the family he loved so completely.
