Kyoung Ja Kim Lee

Kyoung Ja Kim Lee, 90, of Los Angeles, CA, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Monday, December 15th, 2025 at U.C.L.A. Medical Center.

Born in Hamhung, Korea on September 26th, 1935, she immigrated to the United States in 1960 and married her devoted husband, Tai Joo Lee Sr., on June 6th, 1964, in Las Vegas, NV. After the birth of their two sons, she made a permanent home for the family in Los Angeles in 1969, spending many of those years as a resident of Bel Air, CA.

Enduring many hardships throughout her life, Kyoung was known as a tireless worker, rising above the challenges in her life to support her family and achieve professional success as a faculty member in medical research at the U.C.L.A. Medical Center. Fiercely independent, she lived by her own rules and created a full life that deeply reflected her personal values. She will be fondly remembered for her love of travel, her enjoyment of good food and her uncanny ability to find a good bargain.

She is survived by her two sons, Tai Joo Lee Jr., and Frederick Vincent Lee, and her three grandchildren, Tia Lee, Audrey Lee, and Nicholas Lee.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 5th, at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills at 9:30AM.
