Kineko Timcho

Kineko Timcho, 88, born on February 10, 1935, in Tokyo, Japan, passed away January 28, 2024.  She resided in Los Angeles, CA at the time of her passing. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Cypress, CA.

She was the 3rd of 6 siblings. She met her husband M. John Timcho in Yokosuka, Japan in the 1950’s while he served in the U.S. Navy. They married in 1959 and their daughter Patty was born in 1960. In the 1970’s, they bought a house in Cypress, CA.  Kineko loved Cypress, her neighbors, her garden, and her beloved Anaheim Angels.

John passed away in 2003. Kineko continued to live in Cypress until her health began to slowly worsen. In 2018, she moved to Los Angeles to live with Patty and her son-in-law Bob. As her health declined, she had cardiac issues, a dementia diagnosis, and finally two years ago, a diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer. Kineko was a very stubborn and strong woman and fought the diseases as much as she could. She never complained of pain and seemed to bounce back after each hospital stay. But the cancer eventually metastasized to her brain and despite treatment, she never fully regained her strength.

She passed away with her family by her side.

She is survived by her daughter Patty, her son-in-law Bob, 3 grand children and 1 great grand child.
