Kenneth Kirk

June 11, 1943 — August 25, 2025

Kenneth “Ken” Daniel Kirk, 82, passed away on August 25, 2025, in Palm Springs, CA.

He was born in Pasco, Washington on June 11, 1943, to Daniel and Betty Kirk. He married Mary Jo Gill on January 3, 1962. He was in the Marines for four years during the Vietnam conflict. During Ken’s life he had many jobs, as he did whatever he had to do to provide for his family. He eventually started his own landscaping business which he dearly loved. After Mary Jo passed away, Ken married Elizabeth Rainsbury in 2002.

Ken was an outgoing, friendly, caring and generous man. He knew no strangers. He was an Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Solitude Catholic Church. He took Holy Communion to the sick and was an altar server.

During his retirement years he continued his love of gardening. He was always planting and growing his own plants and working in his own yard. This is where he found peace and solace. Ken and Liz loved to travel in their RV, going from Alaska to Maine and everywhere in between.

Ken leaves behind his wife Elizabeth, his daughter Kim Kirk and son Dan Kirk (Tina), two grandsons, one great granddaughter, and his two brothers, David and Robert Kirk. He also leaves behind eight stepchildren, Rosanne Rickel (Dan), Debra Carmel, (Chuck), Katherine Rainsbury, Diana Blake (Rico), Dan Rainsbury, Lisa Williams (Brian), Amy Geiger (Mark), Joe Rainsbury, and sixteen step-grandchildren and seven step-great grandchildren.

A Rosary will be held on Friday, September 12th at 10:30 a.m. with a Memorial Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Solitude in Palm Springs, CA. Interment will be at Tranquility Falls at Forest Lawn in Cathedral City immediately following the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Heart Association.
