Ken Ishiguro

Kenneth Robert Ishiguro was born on September 30, 1957, in Orange, California, to Robert and Chrys Ishiguro. He grew up in Garden Grove with his brother, Jim Ishiguro. Ken attended Garden Grove High School as he began applying himself to academics and other extracurriculars such as Boy Scouts, where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Ken pursued higher education at UC Irvine, where he attained a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

Ken began his career at Scientific Drilling in 1977 as an Electrical Engineer. Over the years, he held various engineering roles at companies such as James Hardie Co., B/E Aerospace, Viking Technology, and lastly Advanced Sterilization Products, where he retired in March of 2023. Throughout his career, Ken accomplished implementing new technologies, including remote guidance of oil drilling equipment, in-flight entertainment systems, solid-state storage, and control systems. His hobbies included being a Ham Radio Operator, traveling, flying as a private pilot, riding motorcycles, and later, mountain biking.

In his personal life, Ken was single after a marriage to Max Devlin (Maria). He had one son, Peter, and a daughter-in-law, Luzy. Ken later became known as "K-Pop" after he became a proud grandfather to his now three-year-old grandson, Niko.

Kenneth's memorial service will be held at 11:30am on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Patriot Chapel - Forest Lawn Cypress, CA. Those who cannot attend in person can watch it here. The family would like to suggest donations to Kidney Cancer Association in lieu of flowers.
