Kathryn Louise Shoemaker passed away at age 100 on May 8, 2022 at Pomona Valley Hospital. Kathryn was born in Jerseyville, Illinois on September 17, 1921. She attended Illinois State Normal University and became a teacher. She taught school including her hometown elementary school. While attending the university, she met James Franklin Shoemaker. After WWII, they married on December 31, 1944. She lived in Bloomington, Illinois and then moved to Redlands, California. In 1966, she moved to La Verne, California. Kathryn had three children: Constance Shoemaker, James Shoemaker and Jane (Shoemaker) Kelly. She also had 5 loving grandchildren and 8 beautiful great grandchildren.
