Kathleen Robles

October 27, 1926 — June 12, 2023

Kathleen Olivio Robles was born in Shinnston, West Virginia on October 27, 1926 to Joseph Olivio and Annunziata Peri-Olivio.  She lived her early years in West Virginia and later moved to Detroit, Michigan and grew up with her family of 11 siblings.  She worked for the Department of Civil Services and later, the Federal Reserve. She met her husband Senorino G. Robles (also known as Sandy and/or Tony to the family) at a Fred MacMurry Veteran’s dance in Detroit in 1953.  He served in the Air Force and was stationed at the Selfridge Air Force Base Harrison Township, Michigan where she would visit him.  They married in September 1954 and had their first child Elisa Robles-Pirard on May 29, 1955.  They moved to California where she had 3 more children, John Robles on July 1, 1956, Mario Robles on November 10, 1961, and Kathleen (Kathy) Robles-May on August 29, 1963.  She was a homemaker and raised her four children.  Senorino fell ill and went with the Lord on April 10, 1983.  Her children grew up and went out on their own before, and after his passing.   She then filled her life spending time working for the US Forestry Service in Pasadena, attending writing and sewing classes, volunteering to make quilts for the elderly, and teddy bears for children in hospitals.  She also joined a theater group called Young at Heart, where she performed songs, dances and funny skits for the community.  She spent the rest of her years relaxing and enjoying time with her family.  She loved her 4 children, their spouses, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren with all her heart.  They all shared many fun memories together with her, singing, dancing, playing the piano, enjoying good food, and sharing stories of her life with lots of laughter.  She kept in touch with her distant family and friends on Facebook and really enjoyed sharing her life and stories that way too.  She celebrated her last 96th Birthday with her children and their families with love in October 2022.  She fell ill in January 2023 and spent her last days with much of her family close to her and by her side.  She passed away peacefully and went with the Lord on June 12, 2023.
