Katherine A. Arvanetis

Kay Arvanetis was born in Basalt, Idaho, on May 28, 1923, to Christian and Era Elena (Scarborough) Stuker. She passed away on August 18, 2018, at the age of 95 years. Kay spent her early years on a ranch in Montana. She had many responsibilities, including herding, milking and looking after younger siblings. After completing her Associates' degree in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Kay and a friend ventured to Los Angeles in order to dance at Big Band concerts. She quickly landed a job working at Dun and Bradstreet.

The first day Kay woke up in California, she thought to herself that she was in paradise. She continued to appreciate living in California, saying that beautiful weather in the mid 70 degrees were "Kay Days." She loved gift-giving, fashion, literature, gardening, decorating, cooking and spending time with family, friends and neighbors. Kay enjoyed her retirement with her husband John, and always loved talking on the phone to her many family members, near and far. Kay was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Kay will be lovingly remembered by her children, Roger (Susan), Fran, Mike (Mona) and Scott (Janine.) Kay will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Nick, Meredith, Ian, Caitlin, Holden, Joshua, Luke, Luci, Criss, Allyssa, and Gavin. Kay will also be remembered with love by her brother Earl, by sisters Lennie, Lula, Sharon, and Sally, and by many nieces and nephews. Kay was predeceased by her husband John, ex-husband Jimmy, brothers Herman, Irvin and Ken, and sister Celia.
