Karen Susan (Gotschall) Jones

Karen "Sue" Susan Jones (Gotschall) passed away peacefully on February 6, 2022, lovingly surrounded by her children. Karen was born in Illinois to Vivian & Floyd Gotschall on May 26, 1951. Karen grew up in Long Beach, CA where she graduated from Jordan High School in 1969. After graduation, Karen enjoyed the opportunity to travel to exciting places like Hawaii, England, and as far away as Germany before starting her family whom she raised in Riverside, CA. Her adventures continued with her children that included many camping trips, theme parks, field trips, and endless gatherings at her childhood home. She was a dedicated employee and retired from the County of Riverside in 2009.

Her family was her sole focus, and she enjoyed and cared for them until the very end. Karen had an amazing sense of humor and a beautiful laugh! Her wit was razor sharp and she was known for her hilarious one-line zingers. She made her whole family laugh with her outrageous and exaggerated facial expressions, and all her silly sayings. She was a kind, generous and compassionately beautiful soul.

Karen is preceded in death by her father Floyd R. Gotschall (2007) and is survived by her mother Vivian M. Gotschall. She also leaves behind her children: Daughters, Sheri (Jones) Hagedorn, Michelle (Jones) Morrison, Rhonda Jones, Rachel (Jones) Baker and Son, James Jones. Son in-laws, Jeremy, Alvin, Jason, Scott and Daughter in-law Tanya as well as her beloved grandchildren and great grandchild. She also leaves her siblings Robert D. Gotschall, his wife Karen, Traci Olson, her husband Robert and Rebecca Oldenburg and her husband Lance. Along with many nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends. She loved fiercely and deeply and we take comfort in knowing that Karen is now at peace surrounded by light.

Services will be held at Forest Lawn, Cypress, CA. with viewing on March 4, 2022, from 1-4 and services at the Church of our Father at 8:30 AM on March 5, 2022.
