Kahlil Alexander Peyrefitte

May 10, 1976 — July 6, 2025

Kahlil Alexander Peyrefitte, beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, passed away at the age of 49 in Glendale, California. Born in Belize City, Belize, on May 10, 1976, Kahlil moved to the United States as a child and was raised in the Bronx, where he grew up surrounded by deep family roots, a tight-knit community, and a boundless love for sports.

Kahlil was a proud Bronx native. His presence was magnetic, his laugh unmistakable, and his loyalty unwavering. He lived boldly, joyful, loud, and full of life. Whether he was shooting hoops, casting a fishing line, or cheering for his Yankees, he brought his full self to every moment.

He had one of the sharpest minds you could ever encounter. Fiercely intelligent and never afraid to speak his truth, Kahlil’s wit and insight were matched only by his generosity. He could debate for hours, make you laugh until your stomach hurt, and offer the kind of advice that stays with you forever.

Kahlil’s passions were wide and joyful. He loved music of all kinds, from reggae to hip-hop to classical and country, and he knew how to set the tone of any room with the perfect song. He was a dedicated NASCAR fan who followed every race with intense enthusiasm. And when it came to darts, he was always ready to play, always calling next game. While he may not have been the most rhythmic dancer, his signature two-step lit up every room.

But his deepest devotion was always to family. He loved big, protected fiercely, and never let those closest to him forget how much they meant. He showed up. Again and again. For birthdays, for holidays, for the ordinary days in between.

He is deeply missed by his mother, Sofia Peyrefitte; his sister and brother-in-law, Givina and Jeffrey Rodriguez; and his cherished niece and nephew, Laila and Logan Rodriguez. He is lovingly remembered by his aunt and uncle, Nila and Sal; his grandparents, Carmen and Dee; his aunts and uncles, Bill and Tammy Wah, Denny and Nikki, and Lizette; his cousins, Addie, Lisa, Chelsea, Crystal, Brandon, and Mikey; and friend Alfred (chiefo). Kahlil also shared a deep and lasting bond with his ex-wife, Stella, and is remembered by countless friends whose lives he touched with honesty, humor, and heart.

Kahlil will be remembered as a gentle, giving soul. A man of conviction. A light that could never be dimmed. His memory lives in the laughter we share, the music we hear, the games we watch, and the love he gave so freely.

A Poem for Kahlil

The world feels muted, colors dimmed and gray

Since you departed, on that fateful day

No joyful sound, no laughter fills the air

Just echoes of your presence, everywhere

My heart, a vessel, once so full of pride

Now aches with emptiness, nowhere to hide

I search for you in every passing face

A phantom echo in this vacant space

The memories we made, a bittersweet embrace

Of childhood dreams and triumphs, time and space

I hold them close, a fragile, precious thing

Yet yearn for more, the joy your presence would bring

Though grief may linger, like a heavy cloak

Your love remains, a light that will not choke

I'll find my strength, within your memory bright

And carry on, guided by your light

For even now, your spirit takes its flight

A guiding star, shining ever so light

And though I miss you, with each passing day

Your love will live, come what may
