Justino Gutierrez Rojas, 84, was born on September 26, 1932, in Tepatitlan de Morelos, Jalisco, Mexico to Agapita and Anastacio Rojas. He passed away on September 2, 2017 in Indio California, where he resided with his family.
Tino was a hard-working entrepreneur and devoted family man, who loved animals and the outdoors. On November 17, 1952, he married the love of his life, Dolores Briano Alcoser. They had four children, Richard, Gabriel, Justino Jr, and Isavel. They moved to the Coachella Valley in 1960, where he started a small landscaping business, with just one lawn mower. Within 6 months, they purchased their home in Palm Desert, and by 1962, he had expanded his business and purchased his first real estate investment. Soon after, he opened a Nursery, with as many as 89 employees. His motto was, "If you don't buy anything, you won't have anything". He was proud to have developed and maintained landscape for many well-known businesses, including several Highway 111 Country Clubs and Sacred Heart Church in Palm Desert.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lola, his children Gabriel and Isavel, 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and his siblings Jose, Anastacio, Eulodia, Olivia, and Jesse. He was preceded in death by his sons, Richard and Justino Jr (Jack), his siblings Pete, Tina, Piedad, and his parents.
He saw the best in everyone, and always, treated friends as though they were family. He was kind, supportive, and never hesitated to help someone in need. His pride and joy were his great-grandchildren. He was a loving and playful grandfather, and would do anything to make his grandchildren happy. They will miss their "Wello" profoundly.
