Junji Harry Nakashima

Brokenheartedly, we share the very sad news that Junji Harry Nakashima has passed away. He was born in Santa Monica, CA on June 27, 1949, to Tamaki Martha (Shijo) Nakashima and Keichi Nakashima. Harry is survived by his wife, Susan Ellen (Clayton) Nakashima, his daughter, Danielle Lauren Tamaki (Nakashima) Bates, son-in-law, Liam Michael William Bates and his grandson, Russell Michael Junji Bates. Harry is also survived by his sister, Mitoshi Sheryl (Nakashima) Yamada, her husband, George Yamada, and their children, Jeff Yamada and Jessica (Yamada) Asher, Jessica’s husband, Billy Asher, and their daughters, Makaela and Alia Asher.

Harry graduated from California State University Northridge, then worked in the computer technology industry and tile industry.

The highlight of Harry’s life was his only child, Danielle. He enjoyed every opportunity to spend time with her and nurturing her interests. Harry was a very proud dad.

Harry passed away on June 4, 2024. The funeral mass will be held at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills on Wednesday, June 26 at 12:30 pm at the Church of the Hills (White Church).
