Julie Blake

February 19, 1964 — August 31, 2025

It is with overwhelming grief that we announce that Julie Anna Blake passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 31st. Julie is survived by her wife of 30 years, Casey Blake, and her twins, Jaden and Cambria Blake, her sister, Holly Edison-Blake, and her brother, Erick Blake. Julie was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Blake and her father, Thomas Blake.

Julie valiantly fought cancer, but it is the way she lived her life that she will be remembered - a life filled with love, adventure, curiosity, and purpose. She loved her family and friends with a deep commitment to trust, hard work, and unconditional love. Julie worked at the Living Desert Zoo for 10 years, working her way to become a tour guide, which she enjoyed so much.

Julie was a California girl. She grew up in Huntington Beach and had a strong connection to the beach and ocean. She enjoyed laughter, historical fiction, playing games, and Angels' baseball. She loved long conversations with her friends and family. Julie was a talker and incredible at trivia, with a very broad knowledge base and big vocabulary.

A service is planned for Saturday, September 20th, 11:30am, at the Center for Spiritual Living in Palm Springs. A lunch will be served after the service. RSVP to 415-559-5749. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Palm Springs Animal Shelter.
