Julia Deleon Guajardo

Julia DeLeon Guajardo, 73, of Indio, Ca was born on March 12, 1944 in Laredo, Texas to Jose Angel and Feliz DeLeon. She worked for Desert Sands Unified School District as a Teacher's Assistant for 37 years as well as "moonlighting"at Sherman's Liquor Store as a cashier for 15 years. Julia died on Thursday, June 23rd, 2017, after a fight with cancer.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Baldomero Guajardo; her son Baldomero Guajardo Jr., and daughter, Angelica Guajardo, of Indio, Ca. She leaves 5 grandchildren : Illiana Guajardo, Ruben Guajardo, Juan Carlos Fajardo, Jr, Damon Guajrado and Esmeralda Guajardo. She left behind 8 great-grandchildren: Angel Rafaela, Mia Rafaela, Julian Baldomero Rafaela, Ezekiel Rafaela, Layla Guajardo, Athena Reign Fajardo, Ruben Guajardo Jr. and Jason Guajardo. She is further survived by her siblings: Angel DeLeon, Ruben DeLeon, Damacio DeLeon, Esperanza Carrasco, Gloria Ochoa, all from Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings Roque DeLeon and Angelita Mireles. She also is loved by her family in Delano, Ca. -Dominga Guajardo Perez, Isabel Guajardo Garza, Juan Guajardo, and many nephews and nieces.
Julia leaves behind many life-long friends, including her dearest friends from Jefferson School whom she considered family.
She resided in Indio, Ca for 37 years,and actively attended Springs of the Desert, Church of God in Indio, and was a member of Programa Misionero in Coachella, Ca.
She spent her life caring for others.

Please note that Visitation is Tuesday, June 27th from 5pm to 9pm with memorial service at 7pm at Forest Lawn Chapel, Coachella.
Funeral Service is Wednesday, June 28th at noon, at Forest Lawn Chapel, Coachella, with Burial at 1pm at Coachella Valley Cemetery on Jackson and Avenue 52 in Indio.
Celebration banquet Wednesday, June 28th at 2pm at Allende Restaurant, on Jackson and Avenue 44 in Indio.
