Judy Sellers

Judy Lynn Wall Sellers, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully at her home in La Crescenta, California, on August 26, 2026. She was born on September 11, 1945, in Los Angeles, and lived a remarkable life filled with love, adventure, and the courage to break new ground.

Judy is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Butch Sellers; her loving children: Jeff Sellers, Scott Sellers (wife Tanya), Todd Sellers (wife Lindsay), Jill Sellers, and honorary son Jesse Valdez. She was a cherished grandmother to Jason Valdez (who helped care for her like she did for him), Payton Sellers, Parker Sellers, Sophie Wall, William Sellers, Alexandra Sellers, Jared Levesque, Max Malek, Rachel Sellers, and Jacob Sellers. She is also survived by her brothers Ken Wall (wife Lois), Dan Wall (wife Yesmin), and Mark Wall (wife Christina), as well as a large extended family who will miss her dearly.

Judy’s life was defined by her trailblazing spirit. As one of the early female officers in the LAPD, she paved the way for future generations of women in law enforcement. After her time with the LAPD, Judy found her second calling as a hospice nurse, offering compassion and comfort to those in need during their most vulnerable moments.

While breaking barriers professionally, Judy was also the heart of her family, raising her children in La Crescenta with unwavering love and support. She brought her zest for life into everything she did, from traveling—especially to her favorite destination, Hawaii—to exploring countless hobbies. Whether she was cake decorating, crafting pottery, or quilting, Judy’s creativity knew no bounds. Quilting became her greatest passion, and her award-winning quilts stand as a testament to her talent and dedication.

Judy’s generosity extended beyond her family and friends. After retiring, she devoted her time to the Pasadena Humane Society, sharing her love for animals—especially her dogs, whom she cared for as family.

Judy’s presence enriched the lives of everyone she met. Her legacy of strength, kindness, and joy lives on in her family and all who had the privilege to know her. The world is less bright without her, and she will be missed beyond measure.

Funeral services will be held on September 11, 2026, from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, California 90068. With a reception to follow at Judy and Butch's home.
