Pastor Judith I. Owens

On January 22, 1973, Judith Ivana Owens was born to the proud parents of James Russell Owens and Harriet Llewellyn Owens in Bridgeport,
Connecticut. She was the youngest of James & Harriet's four children. Judith's siblings are Ephrem O. Owens (deceased), Tlona D. Owens and Gail Y.
Owens.

In 1978, Judith and her family relocated from Connecticut to Pasadena,
California where she began attending elementary school in nearby La Cañada, CA. She was an avid learner thirsting for knowledge who excelled in
academics throughout elementary, junior high school and high school. In 1991, she graduated from Blair High School, in Pasadena where she was senior class president, a member of the yearbook committee, and played on the girls'
softball team, earning Athlete of the Year honors in her 12th grade year.

From the age of 4 years old, Judith excitedly began confessing that one day she would become a distinguished neurosurgeon who had attended school at UCLA and drove a Porsche. As a high school senior she received numerous scholarship offers and acceptance letters to several universities and colleges, among those was acceptance to UCLA. Judith was ecstatic when she received the news.

After completing her undergraduate studies at UCLA, earning a B.A. in
Psychology, Judith began attending Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science, where she earned a Master's in Public Health. Judith was thrilled to be in a learning environment that challenged her intellect, and stimulated her critical thinking. She made the Dean's list, and graduated cum laude from Charles Drew University. Judith continued furthering her education by attending Walden University, where she was pursuing her Doctorate in Public Health.

Judith was a multi-faceted woman who was an entrepreneur, a leader, a
teacher, a mentor, a singer, a songwriter, a helper, a prayer warrior, a cook and a baker. She loved journaling in her blog Journey with Judith and listening to music. Her love for music was the avenue that freed her from life's struggles. Judith was a bright light to all those who encountered her wit, her beauty and her smile. She had a big heart for people and hated seeing them in need. It was her mission to give hope to as many as she could.

Judith loved to praise and worship God, and valued her relationship with Him above all else. One of her greatest moments was being ordained as a
Pastor-Teacher in November 2017. Through the years, Judith was spiritually mentored by a few great men and women of God, including Warryn Campbell Sr. who encouraged her to cultivate her spiritual gifts, Pastor Rose McKinney, Messenger Annette Carswell, and Pastors Alan & Marvene Wright.

Judith was devoted to her family, loyal to her friends, and compassionate
towards her elders. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sisters Gail & Tlona Owens, her grandnieces & nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
