Joyce Elaine Beck

Joyce Elaine Beck, (88) was born April 4, 1931 to Harold A. Singer and Fern L. (Grey) Singer in Chicago, Illinois.

Later the family moved from Chicago, IL to Pana, IL. Joyce attended schools in Pana with a perfect school attendance record. Joyce married Jerry Lee Beck in 1951 in Pana, IL. They were married for 51 years upon Jerry's death in Aug 2, 2002. They had no children. Joyce worked at Pana telephone company as a PBX telephone operator in the early 1950's wile her husband Jerry was drafted into the Army for the Korean War. In 1962 they moved from Pana, IL to Bell, CA. In 1963 they bought a home in La Puente, CA. She worked at the Rykoff restaurant supply company in Los Angeles during the 1960/70's as receptionist. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards and traveling with her husband Jerry.

Later in life Joyce enjoyed attending bunko, bingo and going to casinos with her friends. She drove her car to all the functions up until early 2019. Joyce enjoyed visiting with her neighbors and friends in La Puente. She later moved into assisted living in San Dimas. She continued going to bingo and bunko up until her last day at San Dimas.

Survivors include her brother Richard (Butch) and Phyllis Singer of Howard, CO., seven nieces, one nephew, one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, and many relatives in IL. Cousins Cindy (Lee) Forsberg, Barbara (Rick) Hester, of CA., Angie Barnett, of TX. Cousins Cindy (Lee), Barbara (Rick) and niece Connie Horan were an extremely great assistance for Joyce, and she was very much appreciative for their help.

Joyce passed away at the San Dimas hospital in San Dimas, CA on May 31, 2019. She will be interned with her husband Jerry L. Beck at the Riverside Veterans Cemetery.
