Joshua Walter Leonard 1953-2014

Joshua Walter Leonard passed away peacefully on August 25th at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles from lymphatic cancer complications. He was 61.

Josh was born in Philadelphia on April 1, 1953. He attended Germantown Academy, received a B.S. in Public Accounting at Ithaca College in 1975 and a CPA in 1977. He followed in his father and grandfather's footsteps and dedicated his career to public finance and accounting. His storied career began with Price Waterhouse and Getty Oil. He held senior management positions with Maguire Thomas Partners, Leasehold Technology Group, and Grubb and Ellis. Josh became a senior partner with Deloitte in Los Angeles where he established and led the Lease Advisory practice for 17 years.

Josh was one of the first pioneers in the country to establish lease audit techniques and practices on behalf of corporate tenants. Josh authored and led a copyrighted lease auditing training program that he taught throughout the country.

Josh was an avid squash player, golfer and dedicated husband.

His burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills on Friday, August 29th at 9:00am.

Josh is survived by his wife, Linda; mother, Bertha; and siblings Barney and Rachel.

A gathering for family and friends will be held at the home of his mother, Bertha Rovner Leonard, in Philadelphia on Sunday September 7th at 1:00pm.
