In Loving Memory of Josephine
January 25, 1941 – February 20th, 2026
Josephine Susan wacasey born on January 25, 1941, in New York City, lived a life defined by strength, resilience, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family. A strong and independent woman, Josephine faced life’s hardships head-on. She courageously battled and overcame throat cancer and endured heart surgery with the same fierce determination that defined her spirit. She was, as many lovingly described her, an “Italian stallion” — strong-minded, passionate, protective, and proud. Nothing could keep her down for long, especially when her family needed her.
Josephine was the proud mother of three successful children, her greatest life accomplishments. Through them, her legacy grew to include eleven beloved grandchildren and six treasured great-grandchildren. Each one carried a piece of her strength, her fire, and her heart. She never missed an opportunity to show up — for birthdays, holidays, graduations, celebrations, or even quiet everyday moments. If her family was In need Josephine was there.
Her favorite joy in life was giving. Whether it was a carefully chosen gift, a warm meal, a place to stay, or simply her time and love, Josephine gave freely and abundantly. She opened her home to everyone and made it a sanctuary filled with warmth, laughter, and the comfort of knowing you belonged. She gave without hesitation and never asked for anything in return. Her generosity was not just something she did — it was who she was.
In her final years, Josephine lived in Glendale, surrounded by the family she had built and nurtured so faithfully. Being close to them brought her peace and happiness. The sound of her family’s voices, the sight of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren filling the room — these were the moments that meant everything to her.
Josephine’s legacy is not measured simply in years, but in the lives she strengthened, the love she poured out, and the family bonds she helped create. Her strength lives on in her children. Her warmth lives on in her grandchildren. Her fierce love lives on in every life she touched.
Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit remains woven into the heart of her family — in every gathering, every act of generosity, every moment of resilience.
Josephine was a fighter. She was a giver. And she will be loved and remembered forever.
