Josephine Taylor Demartelaere

Josephine Margaret DeMartelaere, age 87, entered into heaven on Tuesday, January 26th, 2021 in El Paso, Texas. Josephine was born in Chicago, IL in 1933 and moved to California in the 1960s. Jo married Merle DeMartelaere in 1966, had two children, and made Canyon Country, California their home for 54 years. She worked as an Underwriter for Blue Cross of California for 22 years. She was well respected at work and in her community. Jo was best known and will be remembered by her loving family and friends for her joyful spirit, loving heart, fierce protection of her loved ones, and giving soul. She was the youngest of six children by Albert and Elsie Taylor. Jo is preceded in death by her siblings: Rita Taylor, Ed Taylor, Charles Taylor, Ann Truesdale, and Elizabeth Origel. Josephine is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Merle DeMartelaere; children: Diane DeMartelaere Brown and David DeMartelaere. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren to cherish and honor her memory.

A Gravesite Ceremony is scheduled for March 19th at 12pm (noon) at Forest Lawn of Hollywood Hills (Murmuring Trees Section 3093), 6300 Forest Lawn Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90068.

The Memorial Service for Josephine will be held at 10:00 am on March 20, 2021 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 27265 Luther Drive, Canyon Country, California 91351. Due to COVID, seating for the Memorial Service at the church is limited, but the event will be live streaming online at https://www.bethlehemscv.com.
