Joseph Christopher Stewart

May 13, 1931 — May 16, 2019

Joe passed away quickly and quietly on May 16, 2019 at his home in Palm Desert, California. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and lived in Southern California and Alaska during his adult life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Louise Stewart / Payne, in 2002. He is survived by his second love, Maxine Guttentag, his four children, Darla, Debbie, Chris and Darren, many grand children, and a few great grands. He lived a quiet life and was always there to help if he could contribute. A volunteer and fire chief at Alyeska Pipeline Valdez Terminal. He gave of himself without condition or want of reward. He served to be of service and help his fellow man. He will be greatly missed and the hole in our lives will be forever felt, but his place in our hearts and the memories will remain with us forever. God rest and keep you Daddy.
