Joseph ("Gogo") Simonian, 86, born on December 15, 1938, in Hamadan, Iran, passed away November 11, 2025, at home with his loving wife. He resided in Simi Valley, California at the time of his passing, and was a long time resident of Los Angeles, California. Joseph is survived by his wife Nora, his son Joseph (Karine), his daughter Nairi (Marc), and his four grandchildren, Joey, Soren, Michael, and Lilyana. Joseph was a loving husband and father, and grandfather. His grandchildren idolized him and he never failed to bring smiles to their faces whenever he was with them.
Joseph was a hard-working first generation Armenian-American, and always instilled the love and importance of hard-work and education to his children and grandchildren. As a young man he exhibited immense artistic talent, and as an adult applied his creativity as a homebuilder and business owner. A dedicated Armenian, Joseph devoted much of his time to many Armenian philanthropic organizations such as the Pyunic-Armenian Association of the Disabled, and the Armenian Educational Foundation where he supported school construction projects in Armenia. Joseph was a frequent visitor to his beloved motherland, and often said that Armenia's independence was one of the most important events of his life. Joseph was also on the board of Holy Martyrs Armenian Apostolic Church and Ferrahian Armenian School in Encino, Calfornia, including serving as chairman of the board for many years.
In addition, Joseph was a beloved father-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and good friend to many, and will be missed by many.
