Joe had an unmistakable way of moving through life. He knew what he liked, had a remarkable eye for detail and believed that if something was worth doing, it was worth doing better than anyone else had done it before. But for all his appreciation of the finer things in life and the memorable places he traveled, what mattered most to Joe were the people he loved and the time he spent with them.
For more than 28 years, Joe was incredibly proud of his years with Lexus and genuinely loved what he did. He had a gift for creating experiences people would remember for a lifetime. Of the countless events and remarkable places over those years, Pebble Beach was unquestionably his favorite. It brought together so much of what Joe appreciated...tradition, elegance, hospitality and extraordinary culinary experiences with some of the world's finest chefs.
That love of food was very much part of Joe. He loved to cook, particularly when he could share what he created with others. He appreciated exceptional food wherever he found it and was just as happy creating something memorable in his own kitchen.
For Joe, hospitality was about extravagance, but more about how people felt. He could turn a dinner into an occasion and an ordinary gathering into something people talked about years later. He was generous, particular and funny. Those who knew him well knew there was usually a right way to do something...and then there was Joe's way.
For more than 27 years, Joe shared his life with Stewart. Together they built a life filled with family, friends, homes they loved and their bulldogs...Joe's best buddies, always right by his side...and, inevitably, a few things Joe decided they needed just a little more. Theirs was a remarkable love and bond that carried them through every chapter of their life together and only grew stronger when life asked more of them.
In recent years, when Joe was met with challenges, he never let them define him or slow him down. If anything, he dug in and kept going. He never stopped living or looking forward...with plans in place for Europe in October, Christmas in New York and wherever he might travel next. He remained curious, engaged and unmistakably Joe.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Seid and Magdalena Moosavian.
Joe leaves behind Stewart; his brother, Thomas Moosavian and his wife, Katie; his nieces and nephews; and Stewart's family, who became very much his own.
Joe will be remembered for his impeccable taste and unmistakable style, but those were only part of who he was. More than anything, he will be remembered for his generosity, loyalty, humor and ability to make people feel welcomed and included.
He made life bigger. He made it more interesting. He made it more fun.
And if you knew Joe, you can hear his laugh right now.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026 2pm, at Wee Kirk o’ the Heather Church, located within Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe and Stewart's nieces and nephews: Matthew Moosavian, Tommy Moosavian, Annie Moosavian, Tanner Powell, Priscilla Powell Alexander and Powell Paguibitan.
Joe passed away at home with Henry, his bulldog, right by his side.
For those wishing to remember Joe, memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund.
