Joseph Kawar

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Salim Kawar, a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He was 65 years old.

Joseph was born on June 22, 1957 in Amman, Jordan. He grew up in Amman with his parents, Salim and Alice Kawar, and his 7 siblings, Vera, Violet, Vivian, Bishara, Nazih, Zuhair, and Jane Kawar. He graduated from Bishops High School in 1975. In 1977, he immigrated to California where he met up with his two older brothers, Bishara and Nazih. Joseph began working as a Marketing Manager for a paper company where he was successful and well-respected by his colleagues.

Joseph was a devoted family man. He was married to Fadia Dababneh for 28 years and they had two children, Amanda and Joseph Jr.

Joseph was a kind and generous man who always put others before himself. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held at Forest Lawn Covina Hills at Church of Our Heritage on April 29, 2023 at 2:30pm.
