Joseph P. Guiaya

Joseph Guiaya, 84, born on September 20, 1940, in Castillejos, Zambales, Philippines, passed away peacefully at home on October 20, 2024 after a battle with cancer. He emigrated from the Philippines to the United States in 1974 and resided in Glendale, CA at the time of his passing. 

He was born the middle child of 5 siblings to Seraphio Guiaya and Dolores Pascua Guiaya, all of whom preceded him in death.

Joseph is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elenita Luna, daughter Millicent, son Randy, son-in-law Arnold, and his grandchildren Matthew and Meghann. An accountant by profession, he was previously employed by Brunswick Corporation and Tara Corporation in Illinois before moving to Knudsen and lastly, at the University of Southern California, he was a proud employee of the school until his retirement in 2005. He especially loved his friends, neighbors and co-workers, and was the life of the party with his sense of humor and friendly personality.

In his retirement years he was especially fond of Lotto tickets, cheeseburgers and episodes of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. In addition, he looked forward to dropping off and picking up Elenita Luna to work, and he never missed a day.

He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live forever in our hearts.
