Newton, NH:  Joseph F. Doucette, 91, of Newton, NH and formerly of Haverhill, MA, died on Thursday, September 20, 2012, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, Haverhill, MA.

Born in Lowell, MA, son of the late William and Florida Doucette, he attended St. James Grammar School and graduated from St. James High School.  He served in the U.S. Army/Air Corps as a Staff Sergeant during World War II and was a recipient of the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, The American Theatre Campaign Ribbon The Good Conduct Medal and European, African, and Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign Ribbon.  

Mr. Doucette worked first at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, and as a Master Carpenter for over forty years for the International Alliance of Theatrical Employees of U.S. and Canada, and supervised the construction of stage sets for over fifty Broadway shows.  

He attended St. James Church, Haverhill, MA and Mary, Mother of the Church, Newton.  An avid Patriots fan, he enjoyed woodworking, carpentry and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Marie Anne (Jensen) Doucette of Newton, NH; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph F. and Pamela Doucette, Jr. of West Hills, CA and Richard L. & Maureen Doucette of Newton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra M. and Charles Annan of Salem, NH, Dorothea A. and Raymond Collette of Haverhill, MA and Carole A. and Alan Armstrong of Windham, NH; a sister, Theresa Clements of Lawrence, MA; eleven grandchildren, Anne LeBlanc, Jonathan Broughton, Erik Annan, Jameson Annan, Bridgette Howell, Richard Doucette, Jr., Jared Doucette, Joseph Doucette, III, George Armstrong, Carrie Armstrong and Joshua Armstrong; four great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was pre-deceased by a granddaughter, Heather Annan.

Relatives and friends may call TODAY, Friday, September 21, 2012, from 6 to 8 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Route 121A, Plaistow, NH.  His funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012, at 10 AM at the funeral home followed by burial with military honors at Willow Grove Cemetery, Newton, NH.
