Joseph William Burdett, age 80, passed away from Alzheimer's on Saturday, July 1st, 2017 in West Los Angeles with his children by his side. He was born in Pottstown, Illinois on October 23, 1936 to Joseph Lyle and Elizabeth (Williams) Burdett. As the train roared through their backyard, Joe and his younger brother, Ron, dreamed of all the places they would go. Joe skipped a grade in his one-room schoolhouse and went on to graduate from Bradley University. He fell in love with Mary Jean Pasco when he was 17 and married her a few years later. Joe began his career as a CPA for Price Waterhouse in Chicago then entered the Air Force as a Captain. While stationed in Brigham City, Utah, Joe earned an MBA at The University of Utah. Next stop was Palo Alto, California where Joe attended Stanford Law School. After graduating at the top of his class in 1963, Joe moved to Los Angeles and went to work for the prestigious law firm, Kindel & Anderson where he made many life-long friends. A brilliant and accomplished tax attorney, Joe's clients included corporations and celebrities. Joe and Jeanie gave birth to their son, Eric followed by their daughter, Jennie. The family enjoyed summer vacations, winter ski trips, movies, the theatre and all Los Angeles sporting events, especially the Dodgers. Joe was proud to have been a member of The Jonathan Club where he served as President. Joe and Jeanie were married 49 years until cancer took her life at age 69. They are now reunited in Heaven. Joe is survived by his children, Eric and Jennie, and his brother, Ron and his family. Services will be held at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, July 12th at 12:30pm.
