Josefino Gabriel

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Josefino "Totie" Gabriel on November 1st, 2023. He passed away peacefully after a long and hard fought battle with Congestive Heart Failure.

Josefino is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Gilda, who stood by his side every step of the way; his daughters Jennifer & Josephine; and his son, Jonathan. He also leaves behind five Grandchildren, Elijah, Jada, Julia, Jordana, and Zoe; and three In-Laws in Edwin, Ferdinand, and Sameydy.

Josefino was born on April 28, 1940 in Imus, Cavite. Josefino served 30 years in the U.S. Navy with stops in Dallas, Virginia, Long Beach, Chicago, and Guam. He retired in 1986 from active duty and stayed in the reserves for 10 years after. While serving in the Navy, he met and married the love of his life, Gilda, on June 26, 1977. Josefino became a father for the first time on March 20, 1978. 26 years later, he would welcome his first grandchild. A husband, a father, and a grandfather; these are the titles that Josefino cherished the most in his 83 years of life.

Josefino was devoted to his family above all. He took pride in how he raised his family and this pride extended to his Grandchildren. He also loved his extended family and close family friends. Josefino was a kind and loving man, as well as a very loyal friend. When he did have some time for himself, he took interest in things such as the NBA, the NFL, Farm Living on Youtube, Western Movies, and shows such as Walker Texas Ranger. He will be forever missed by all the people fortunate enough to have had him in their lives.

Memorial Services will be held on November 28th from 10 AM - 8 PM at Forest Lawn, Cypress, CA. We are respectfully asking for privacy with our father from 9 AM - 10 AM. The Funeral services will be held on the 29th at 1:30 PM. We kindly ask you to wear white for his funeral.
