Josefina Nava, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on January 7, 2025, in Bellflower, California. Born on July 18, 1937, in Sinaloa, Mexico, she embodied the spirit of determination and resilience throughout her life.
With an entrepreneurial mindset and a heart full of love, Josefina was a dedicated single mother of nine. She tirelessly worked to provide for her children, always fighting for their future and well-being. Her strong faith in God and his promises and reliance in him, she was able to embark in a remarkable journey. Her proudest accomplishment was her remarkable journey as an immigrant who successfully brought all nine of her children to the United States, seeking a better life for them. Her love and commitment to her family served as a guiding light for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Josefina's personality was as vibrant as her passion for music. She had a contagious spirit, often found singing at any opportunity and sharing stories that brought joy to those around her. Her beautiful voice not only filled her home but also left an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and friends. Memories of her singing and storytelling will forever be cherished. Those fortunate enough to know her will fondly remember how her smile could brighten anyone’s day and how she embraced life with pure joy.
In her last days, Josefina continued to inspire those who loved her, leaving behind a legacy of strength, love, and the joy of music. She is survived by her loving sons, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her dear sister.
Funeral services will be held at the Forest Lawn - Covina Hills - Church of our Heritage in Covina, California. The first service will take place on January 28, 2025, at 5:00 PM, concluding at 9:00 PM. A second service will follow on January 29, 2025, beginning at 12:00 PM and ending at 1:00 PM.
Josefina Nava's life was a testament to love, sacrifice, and the enduring power of family. Her legacy will continue to inspire and bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
