Born on March 20, 1949, Josefina’s life was a testament to unwavering compassion, spiritual strength, and a Christ-centered devotion that touched all who knew her.

Josefina and her late husband, Javier Carrera, served side by side as pastors since 1984, dedicating decades of their lives to preaching God’s word with unshakable passion. Together, they built a legacy rooted in faith, guidance, and the loving shepherding of their congregation. Josefina’s heartfelt mission was clear—to help others find and follow Jesus. She was truly a beacon of faith, a spiritual warrior whose dedication to God and community inspired many.

Her personality radiated warmth and kindness. Known for her compassionate nature, Josefina was constantly giving and loving, both to her family and her church community. She was a woman of prayer, embodying a deep spiritual life filled with reflection and unwavering devotion. Those who knew her remember her style and presence—graceful, faithful, and strong in her beliefs.

Josefina’s proudest accomplishments were the ways she helped her family and church community flourish. She was deeply loved by her children Emelda, Javier, and Elsa. Her grandchildren were a source of immense joy, a living chapter of the life she nurtured and cherished. Though her beloved husband Javier is no longer with us, the foundation of love they built together remains an enduring light for all who were privileged to witness their journey.

The upcoming visitation will be held on May 18, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills - Old North Church, located at 6300 Forest Lawn Drive in Los Angeles, California. The funeral service will follow on May 19, 2026, beginning at noon and concluding at 1:00 PM at the same location. These gatherings will offer a sacred time to honor Josefina’s life, celebrate her spirit, and find solace in shared memories.
