Jose Jaring Vicente

May 4, 1916 — August 29, 2015

Jose Jaring Vicente was born on May 4, 1916 in Hermosa Bataan, Philippines to Paulino and Maria Jaring Vicente.

Jose was a man of the strongest faith, which was established as a young boy during his service in the church choir. His faith and love of music remained throughout his long life. He lived in Guam and Hawaii while employed as a civilian for the U.S. government. In 1975, Jose along with his wife and family relocated to Santa Ana, California to proudly work for El Toro Marine Base as a carpenter. In his 99 years, Jose was a devoted husband to Rosario Sazon Vicente+. Together, they were generous hosts who welcomed all into their home. He was a loving father to 5 children (Letty, Myrna, Puring, Benjie+, and Remigio "Boy") and their spouses, and a beloved Lolo to 21 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren. Jose is an example of a life lived for family and a life lived in faith and humbleness. He will be forever remembered for his kind smile, for his love of fishing and Lakers basketball, for his signature dish - maja blanca, and for his pure enjoyment of lollipops and singing.

Our Beloved Lolo passed away peacefully on August 29, 2015 surrounded by his cherished family and comforts of home. We love you, Lolo, and will miss you always!
