Jose Guadalupe Plateado Teposte, affectionately known as Lupe o "Zacatecas," was born on June 1, 1949, in Teocaltiche Zacatecas, Mexico. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 7, 2025, in Hollywood, California.
Lupe lived a long and fulfilling life marked by kindness and warmth. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Rosa, until her passing, after which he lived with his brother Robert and mother, providing opportunities for his siblings to spend cherished time with him. Lupe's personality shone brightly; he was smart, had a great sense of humor, and was always welcoming to those around him.
He spent many joyful moments with family, relishing outings for coffee or lunch at Zermenos, Sizzler, La Parrilla, or Astro Burgers. His love for walks, especially while listening to the nostalgic tunes of Mexican music legends like Vicente Fernandez, Antonio Aguilar, Los Tigres del Norte added to the richness of his daily life. Lupe shared a special bond with his cat, Lola, who brought him much comfort and companionship.
Lupe leaves behind a loving family, including his brothers Robert, Manuel, Rodrigo, Sisters Maria Francisca, Aurora, Martha, Manuela, Hilda, Olga & Julie. He is preceded in death by his parents, Julia and Manuel, his wife Rosa, and siblings Gloria and Candido.
A funeral service to honor Lupe's life will be held on November 1, 2025, at Forest Lawn - Covina Hills - Church of our Heritage, located at 21300 Via Verde Drive, Covina, California, commencing at 9:30 AM. His life and legacy will be celebrated by all who knew him, as he remains forever in their hearts.

Lupe vivió una vida larga y plena, marcada por la bondad y la calidez. Fue un esposo devoto de su amada esposa, Rosa, hasta su fallecimiento. Después, vivió con su hermano Robert y su madre, brindando a sus hermanos la oportunidad de pasar momentos entrañables con él. La personalidad de Lupe era brillante; era inteligente, tenía un gran sentido del humor y siempre recibía con los brazos abiertos a quienes lo rodeaban.
Disfrutó de muchos momentos felices con su familia, deleitándose con salidas a tomar café o almorzar en Zermenos, Sizzler, La Parrilla o Astro Burgers.
