ENGLISH

Jose Ramon Peralta, 70, born on October 29, 1951, in Mexico, passed away March 29, 2022. He resided in Pomona, CA at the time of his passing. Jose beat prostate cancer in 2018, but was unfortunately diagnosed with Stage 4 Gastric cancer in March of 2021. Peraltas are inherently stubborn, and he was not going to go down without a fight! After a year of chemotherapy sessions, a trip to the emergency room revealed his cancer had progressed too far. He went to be with God in March 2022. Jose came to the United States by himself at 21, years of age. He went to JobCorps and learned to be a machinist. He would continue his career as a machinist for 30 years. After that, he became a cross-country truck driver for 15 years until he retired at 67 years old. Even while undergoing chemo treatment, he would tell stories about how much he missed being a truck driver, and how he hoped to go back to it someday. He loved driving around the country and seeing new places. Jose was grumpy & stubborn, but he always meant well. He was fiercely overprotective of his loved ones, and he loved deeply. He had the biggest heart, even though he was a little rough around the edges. He loved classic cars, trucks, motorcycles, animals, and the ocean. He loved to eat any and all types of seafood. Jose lives on through his family, and the lessons he taught them: the value of a dollar, how to learn to fix things (even if he Mickey-Mouse'd it here and there), and how to follow directions (because he would give each of his family members very detailed instructions on how to complete a specific task he assigned to them). Jose loved to dance and he was the life of the party when he wanted to be. His beloved "El Sinaloense" was a perfect example of how proud he was of his Mexican heritage, and how proud he was to be from Sinaloa, Mexico. That song will be a reminder of that for his loved ones for years to come. He is survived by his wife, Dora; his children, Junior, Nohemy, Lizeth, Jessica and Monique; his grandchildren, Marissa, Joseph, Karissa, Rachel, Jacob, Jared, Serai, and Brianna; and his great-grandson, Mason. Jose is joined in heavenly rest with his son, Eddie, his mother, Teresa, and his mother-in-law, Teodocia. May they rest in peace.

ESPANOL
