Jose Monroy Serrano

Jose Monroy Serrano, a beloved patriarch and devoted family man, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, in Ontario, California. Born on January 9, 1947, Jose led a life rich in love, warmth, and cherished memories.

Jose was a person of great kindness and hospitality. He had an innate ability to make everyone feel welcome in his home, especially in his favorite retreat—the garage. It was here that he enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, surrounded by family and friends, while passionately supporting his favorite soccer team, Las Chivas. His love for the game was only matched by his deep affection for his family.

He is survived by his son, Jose Monroy Jr., and his daughter-in-law, Michelle Monroy. Jose also leaves behind his daughter, Sandra Monroy Huizar, her husband Baudelio Huizar Jr., and his son, Raul Monroy. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and delighted in the joy of six great-grandchildren, whom he loved dearly and who brought laughter and happiness to his life.

Jose's legacy is one of unwavering love and compassion. He will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him for his welcoming spirit and the joy he radiated.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the Funeral Services to be held at Forest Lawn - Covina Hills - Church of our Heritage, located at 21300 Via Verde Drive, Covina, CA, on November 7, 2025, starting at 6:00 PM, with a concluding service at 9:00 PM. A second gathering will take place on November 8, 2025, beginning at 9:30 AM and concluding at 10:30 AM.

Jose Monroy Serrano will be deeply missed but will live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved him.
