Jose Forbes Jr.

Jose D. Forbes Jr., affectionately known to family and friends as Joe (Boy) Forbes, entered fully into the presence of the Lord on September 9, 2024. Born on January 10, 1955, in Bataan, Philippines, to his loving parents, Jose D. Forbes Sr. and Antonina D. Forbes, Joe lived a life marked by simplicity, Faith in God, and profound love for his family. 

Joe dedicated over 30 years of his career as a Bank Examiner in various local Banks and Finance Companies, then finally retired at Wells Fargo Bank on June 12, 2021, where his kindness, patience, and hard-working spirit shone brightly. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from De La Salle University in the Philippines. Yet, while he thrived in his professional life, it was his deep Faith and Love for our Lord Jesus that truly reflected his character.

Joe devoted his free time reading and studying the Word of God as well. His tireless efforts in serving the Lord Jesus inspired many of us and was respected not only for his knowledge of the Bible but also for his dedication in leading Bible Studies and sharing the Good News of the Gospel.

Among his fondest memories were the simple joys of life: spending time with his family, listening to Gospel music, reading the Bible, watching movies and sermons. Every moment shared with loved ones was cherished, and Joe's stories and laughter are now treasured memories etched in the hearts of his family and friends.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Normie, who faithfully stood by him through the many seasons of tests and trials in their family, his two children, Christine and Catherine (married to Rich Jow), whom he guided in the fear and knowledge of the Lord, and his cherished granddaughter, Hailey, whose “Wow” moments brought him endless joy. 

In addition, he is survived as well by his supportive sisters: Nerie, Rose, Ampy, Lorna, Edna, and Glo, along with his nieces & nephews. 

His journey on this earth may have come to an end, but Joe leaves behind a remarkable legacy — a life lived with purpose, kindness, and full devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ. His unwavering faith in God guided him until He called him home… as Joe truly ran his race well!

Family and Friends are invited to join us in the Celebration of his Life during the Memorial and Funeral services at Forest Lawn - Covina Hills - Memory Chapel on September 24, 2024 (Tues), from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and at the Church of our Heritage on September 25, 2024 (Wed), from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. As we gather to honor his memory, let us carry forward his spirit of love, laughter, and faith — we’ll be forever grateful to God for the time we shared with this remarkable man.

Rest in the loving arms of Jesus dearly beloved Joe! Your legacy of faith and obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ will forever live in our hearts. Praise God!
