As a family, we announce with heavy hearts, the passing of our cherished papa, Jose E. Castro. Born February 03, 1926, in Prescott, Arizona and raised by his mother, Juana. On May 21, 2025, he passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.

He was 99 years young, and lived in Wilmington, California, where he spent most of his life.

He is deeply mourned by his sister Jennie, his 11 children; 34 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and 9 bonus grandchildren.

His wisdom and exceptionally long-term memory spanned over the years, sharing life stories about his upbringing in Arizona and the traditions he established.

His hard work, dedication, and perseverance to provide for his family always had an impact on us and many of our relatives. We grew up understanding the importance of family relationships and a strong work ethic, while he continued to work hard through his later years in life.

We find comfort in knowing that our papa lives on through the life lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and all the memories he made. We will cherish them forever!
