Jose M. Dumlao

Jose M. Dumlao, 78, passed away March 2, 2018. He was born on December 30, 1939, in Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines to his parents Cesario and Florida Dumlao. He was born on the day of Jose Rizal's death, and so his namesake. Jose graduated from Nueva Vizcaya High School in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, and he finished his course of Bachelor of Science in Animal Husbandry in Araneta University. Thereafter, he worked in the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Cagayan, Bayombong, and Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya. He then worked as a Municipal Development Officer in Dupax del Sur, Nueva Vizcaya, where he met Rosella Magaway, with whom he had his only child Jhoette. Jose and his family emigrated to the United States in 1988, where he worked for the Los Angeles County Department of Health as a veterinary technician for most of his working years in the US. Jose lived a happy and comfortable life, well into his retirement in Los Angeles until he was stricken with cancer and lost the good fight. He was surrounded by those who loved him. Jose enjoyed watching boxing, gardening, and going to garage sales. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. Jose M. Dumlao is survived by his wife Rosella Dumlao, his son Jhoette Dumlao, and his pet dogs Jinky and Krista.
