A Celebration of life!
In loving memory of Jose Luis Delgado. Affectionately known as “Grandpa”
Jose Luis Delgado, born in the beautiful city of Chihuahua, México.
Jose shared countless cherished stories with his beloved children, reflecting on his time as an English teacher in Chihuahua. At a young age, he fell in love and married Bertha Delgado. In search of a brighter future, Jose and Bertha bravely decided to migrate to the United States, where they welcomed four wonderful children: Luie, Jenny, Jorge, and Brenda.
During his journey, Jose briefly studied at Los Angeles Community College. However, he ultimately followed his true calling as a glassman. This craftsmanship was not just a job for him; it was a meaningful legacy passed down from his father, Raul Delgado, to him and his brothers. For over forty years, Jose dedicated himself to his craft, working alongside his brothers and taking on independent projects—projects that will be remembered for years to come.
Grandpa loved listening to music, including Ramon Ayala, The Beatles, Elvis, José Alfredo Jiménez, Javier Solís, and many more. He enjoyed traditional Mexican food and was a Dodgers fan, especially fond of his favorite player, #34 Fernando Valenzuela!
Jose is remembered by his family, which includes four children, eleven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.
“God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so He put His arms around you and whispered, ‘Come to Me.’ With pain in our hearts, we saw you leave.”
Rest in peace Dad!
A visitation in memory of Jose will be held on May 29, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn - Cypress, Patriots Chapel, located at 4471 Lincoln Avenue, Cypress, CA. There will also be a funeral service on May 30, 2025, starting at 9:00 AM at the same location.
